EDINBURG — Get your creativity working during “Día de los Muertos Craft Day: Calaveritas y Papel Picado,” a two-session workshop to broadcast live on Monday, Oct. 26, through the Museum of South Texas History’s Facebook page.
Calaveritas, or sugar skulls, are a traditional altar offering during Día de los Muertos. Staff member Anna Garrigos-Hervert will discuss the origins of calaveritas, their tradition and iconography, and transformation over time to become a staple of a Día de los Muertos altar.
