EDINBURG – The Child Nutrition Department from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District reached a milestone on Thursday when the staff distributed over one million healthy meals to children as part of the District’s Curbside Meal Pickup Program.
“Today is a big day, because we have served a million meals,” said ECISD Interim Superintendent Gilbert Garza Jr. “The program has been a huge success for us.”
Since March 23, the school nutrition professionals have worked hard to provide 1,014,182 meals to feed students in the school community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
