Call me an animal sucker, which is probably why I prefer most dogs and cats over most people. Okay, call it evenly split. Wife feels the same way, which is probably why we ended up with five dogs all at once for many years, all found without a home. Sadly, they’re all gone, leaving me with my pet rock. Easy to care for, cheap to feed, but lacking any emotion.Then, as luck would have it, a black cat shows up at our house. I resisted the temptation to feed it, not wanting to form any sort of bond with it.
