Flying maids to Dallas

I’m rolling out on the runway after getting tower clearance, looking first to make sure no idiot’s coming in unannounced on final, undetected by the control tower (radio silence). Then I get the nose wheel on the center line (because precision always counts in flying), check the DG (directional gyro) out of habit to make sure it matches with the runway heading (don’t want to be taking off on the wrong runway), and give it full throttle. At a pilot’s home base, he or she has to be a complete idiot not to know one runway from another when taking off.
