EDINBURG — La Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano exhibit, a collection of Mexican cinema posters, at the Museum of South Texas History (MOSTHistory) is a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Beginning in the 1930s, Mexican films were recognized for their quality and production throughout the Spanish-speaking world. This was known as “la Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano,” the golden age of Mexican cinema. In the early 1950s, the Rio Grande Valley had 32 theaters that premiered the Spanish-language films.
