Berries bring summer memories and all have their favorite fresh berry recipes including Berry Salad, Berry Salsa and Berry Cheese Boards. Birds and other wildlife have their favorite summer berries too. The Granjeno (gran-hen-oh) is an extremely popular native wildlife fruit also known as “spiny hackberry” or “desert hackberry” and found in our southern region.
Birds will congregate on the Granjeno shrubs for the morsels of sweet fruit in the summer.
