This week two new volunteers are trying out for the position of writer of this article, Zeke the dog, and Sunkist the cat. This is a first effort for each of them, so, without further ado -- here they are:
PHARR - The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) Communications Department received various State awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) for their outstanding work in School Public Relations and Marketing. The awards were announced at TSPRA’s Annual Star Awards Celebration held February 24, 2021 in Denton, during the Association’s 59th Annual Conference.
Keep McAllen Beautiful (KMB) is looking for elderly McAllen residents who need help in removing their dead landscaping affected by the freeze and anyone who would like to volunteer to help in this effort.
The McAllen City Commission proclaimed the month of March as Women’s History Month and March 8 as International Women’s Day in McAllen, in celebration of the of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. City leaders are proud to point out that the City of McAllen is unique amongst Rio Grande Valley and border municipalities, with an equal number of men and women who are directors of City of McAllen departments.
