A woman in her 50s from out of state was handcuffed and arrested at a music concert last week at the Pharr Events Center after a police sergeant discovered three Xanax pills at the bottom of her purse. It didn’t matter that the woman claimed that the pills were part of a valid prescription; she just didn’t have the pill bottle with her to prove it, she said. She was taken into custody, her wrists placed in handcuffs, and transported to the Pharr city jail in the back of a police unit. The Xanax discovery was part of normal search protocol,
