EDINBURG — Edinburg police were alerted to a possible kidnapping last Tuesday, July 5, 2022 just after 9 a.m.During the course of the investigation, detectives learned a woman was being held against her will at a home in the 300 block of Keystone Street.Officers' investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Josue Eduardo Garcia-Mendoza, who was charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of smuggling of a person. Mendoza is being held on a $110,000 bond.Stephanie Guadalupe Peña, 21, was arrested and arraigned on one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of smuggling of a person.
