The collapse and subsequent bankruptcy of Hidalgo County EMS will be a story for some time to come, especially since a Pharr death occurred early Monday morning inside the Pharr police department, 25 minutes after an ambulance unit was first called. The current contract between the two entities stipulates EMS calls arrive no later than eight minutes.
