IDEA Public Schools, the RGV’s largest charter-school operator and one of the fastest growing in the U.S., was set to lease a corporate jet for eight years (per written contract), valued at approximately $15 million (life of the contract), but pulled the plug on the plane plan hours after The Houston Chronicle and a state teachers union started questioning the jet lease.
