CBP Seizes over $700K Worth of Cocaine at Pharr International Bridge

PHARR — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility discovered cocaine worth $740,000 in a commercial truck arriving from Mexico. “This interception of hard narcotics, just days after a previous detection in another commercial truck demonstrates our officers’ vigilance,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas. “There is no down-time in our line of work.” This seizure occurred on Sep. 30 at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility. A CBP officer referred a 39-year-old male Mexican citizen driving a commercial tractor, with no trailer for a non-intrusive imaging (NII) system examination.
