The Pharr City Commission approved a proclamation declaring June 2023 as Elder Abuse Awareness Month. Abuse of older adults and people with disabilities is a community concern, and affects men and women of all income and ability levels, all cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in all communities. The City of Pharr is working with community partners and professional groups to raise awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.
