McALLEN - The City of McAllen Vital Statistics Division will begin offering extended hours every Tuesday, beginning this February 11, staying open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., taking the last application at 5:30 p.m. The division has also updated its list of requirements needed to request a birth or death certificate. The primary form of identification is a state-issued driver’s license, but if residents do not have one, there are other acceptable forms, such as a military I.D., U.S. passport, license to carry a handgun, or law enforcement employment I.D.
