Special to the AdvanceEDINBURG — The Edinburg Police Department is conducting an investigation into a devastating collision that took place Monday.The accident resulted in the deaths of a 50-year-old woman who was driving, her 68-year-old mother, and her 2-year-old granddaughter. The driver’s niece is now fighting for her life in critical condition.Preliminary findings from the investigation point to an alleged drunk driver as the cause of this fatal accident.Edinburg police officers responded to the 2200 block of South Jackson Rd. at about 9:14 p.m. in reference to the major accident.
