Special to the AdvanceEDINBURG — On Saturday, shortly before 7:30 p.m., Edinburg PD officers responded to the 2000 block of E. University regarding an auto-pedestrian accident involving an elderly male.Through the investigation, it was determined that 78-year-old Juan Solis of Edinburg was walking on the outside lane when he was struck by a black Ford Expedition traveling east.The driver immediately stopped to render aid and is currently cooperating with law enforcement.Solis was transported by EMS to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
