On Thursday, April 2, 2020, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office arrested an adult male on various charges which included assault family violence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. On Thursday, April 8, 2020, the adult male was tested for COVID-19 after investigators from the Hidalgo County Health Department learned the inmate had been in contact with others outside our facility, who had previously tested positive for COVID-19.
