The Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office will receive $1,437,587.71 in grant awards to continue to provide essential services to victims of crime in Hidalgo County. Criminal District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez Jr. has used such grants to establish the Domestic Violence Unit, Special Crimes Division & the Victims Unit.Over the past six years, the DA’s Victim’s Unit has helped 62,712 victims of crime, provided services to 129,401 victims, and has assisted with 10,089 protective order applications.Since 2015, the DA’s office has received $7,432,653.30 in grant funds to provide direct services to victims.
