Special to the AdvanceEDINBURG — The filing deadline has been set for anyone wanting to run for the Hidalgo County Appraisal District. Hidalgo County residents who are interested in running for the board may file their candidacy beginning Jan. 17. The filing period ends on Feb. 16.The election itself will be held on May 4.The Hidalgo County Appraisal District is composed of a board of six appointed members, but a new law is expanding that board to a total of nine members.
