Urban County Director P.R. Avila presented the Texas Community Development Block Grant, through the Texas Department of Agriculture, for Emergency Services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of the Emergency Services grant is to provide assistance to residents impacted by the public health and economic crisis due to COVID-19. "Funds will be used for Subsistence Payments to assist low-income individuals or families whose income has been significantly reduced as a result of social distancing and other public health restrictions issued beginning in March 2020," said Avila.
