McAllen almost has a new commissioner.
The city commission voted at a special called meeting Tuesday Noon to put its imprimatur on the results of the June 22 runoff election between incumbent District 5 Commissioner John Ingram and challenger Sebastian 'Seby' Haddad The vote was unanimous with Ingram and Commissioner Veronica Vela Whitacre absent.
The run-off results they canvassed and accepted are these: 719 votes for Haddad, or 53.62 %, and 622 votes for Ingram, or 46.38%. That's a 97 vote difference. There were 1343 total votes cast. On election day, Haddad finished six votes over Ingram, 143-137. Haddad also prevailed in ...
