On July 18, just before 4 a.m., Edinburg police officers were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of E. Mcintyre St. Edinburg, Texas in reference to a possible sexual assault of a child. When officers arrived, they spoke with both the underage victim and the 59-year-old suspect Luis Padilla. Padilla then incriminated himself to Edinburg investigators and admitted to sexually assaulting the child.Padilla was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
