McAllen’s incident-based reporting system crime estimate released

The City of McAllen participates in the US Department of Justice (DOJ) FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) System, a nationwide statistical data reporting effort.The DOJ FBI Summary Reporting System (SRS), commonly known as the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), is transitioning to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) beginning Jan. 1, 2021.Additionally, the Texas Legislature passed legislation that requires this reporting change.HB 11, Texas 84th Regular Session, effective 09/01/2015, in part, provides that: Sec. 411.054.
