On Tuesday, the McAllen City Commission will hear from McAllen City Management on the proposed $630 million budget for the City of McAllen for the upcoming fiscal year, 2022-2023. Highlights of the budget include a multitude of infrastructure projects, totaling more than $278 million; investment for the expansion of the Anzalduas Port of Entry cargo facilities; recommendations for fire and police protection; sustaining the current municipal workforce; and the proposed lower tax rate for McAllen taxpayers.
