The McAllen City Commission on Monday, June 22, 2020, delayed taking action, for at least one month, on the renewal of its existing $60,000 contract with McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC, which represents the City of McAllen before the Texas Legislature, until the local elected leaders receive and review an update on what that firm accomplished during the past year.
The firm, which has an office in Austin, will continue to represent the city’s legislative interests at the Texas Capitol during the extension period, the mayor and city commissioners also unanimously agreed.
