Local author Eliza M. Garza was awarded with a proclamation Monday by the City of McAllen, declaring June 18, Raspas Con Mi Grandpa Day. “Raspas Con Mi Grandpa” is the name of Garza’s best-selling children’s book, a South Texas tribute to the Hispanic culture.The book has promoted connection and inspired others to appreciate and celebrate the remarkable relationships with their own abuelos and those they love.
