McAllen Mayor Jim Darling used Monday’s city commission meeting to bring the public up to date on how the flood of migrants from south of the border is affecting the city. The continuing masses of people traveling through this part of the southern border on their way north have strained Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection resources and they have released hundreds of people into the city because they had no place to hold them.
