Pharr increases water bill; set to increase property taxes

If you own residential or commercial property in Pharr, look for a price hike on your utility bill starting next month; and if things proceed as expected this week during a special called meeting, your property taxes will increase as well. According to city reps, however, there is a silver lining in all of this for city property owners. The Pharr City Commission voted 6-0 (the mayor was in D.C.) last Monday (Sept. 9) after a second final reading to increase water/wastewater rates in the city by approximately $7.60 per household. The commercial rate will increase by approximately $25.10 per commercial meter,
