The City of Pharr is now in the ambulance business after the bankrupt company it offered to purchase for approximately $1 million has gained approval of the federal bankruptcy judge overseeing it, Houston-based David R. Jones. Since Hidalgo County EMS, once a self-proclaimed industry high-flyer prior to its crash in 2019, filed bankruptcy that same year, the story has been dragging on with carnage left by the wayside.
