In an effort to further support its 11th grade cohorts, the Region One Education Service Center (ESC) GEAR UP Projects educated over 200 parents of first-generation college students on financial aid, financial literacy, social-emotional learning and career navigation April 17 at the Mission Events Center.“Family empowerment is key to the success of any student,” said Sylvia Vargas, Education Specialist for the Region One ESC GEAR UP: College Now-Career-Connected!
