Brownsville native Gloria Chavez, the highest-ranking female U.S. Border Patrol agent, recently assumed command of the RGV Sector, one of nine BP sectors that runs along the U.S. southwest border.Previously, working as chief of the Border Patrol’s El Paso Sector, Chavez served her last day there Sept. 30, before moving back to familiar turf the first of October.
