San Juan run-off election leads to early lawsuit

SAN JUAN – The runoff election for the city of San Juan’s Place 5 seat between incumbent Pedro “Pete” Garcia and his opponent, Marco “Markie” Villegas, kicked into high gear this week when the latter’s attorney, Javier Peña, filed a temporary restraining order (TRO) at the Hidalgo County Courthouse Tuesday, which was subsequently signed the same day by state District Court Judge Rose Guerra Reyna.
