Special to the Advance EDINBURG — The Museum of South Texas History, in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin’s Planet Texas 2050, present the spotlight exhibit “Hurricanes: Overcoming Catastrophes.”Every year storms churn out at sea, hoping they never make it to land. When the season is predicted to be considerably active, supplies are stocked and vehicles are filled with gasoline. As many people wait for the surge of the storm, they exchange stories about hurricanes that flooded towns, ripped roofs off buildings and damaged crops.
