There were a few things I never wanted to do while flying airplanes for a living – crash or land gear-up. Both would have ruined my day, along with the lives of my passengers. Appearing stupid was another thing I wanted to avoid. I could be stupid at home; just not around an airport.
Because “pilot error” accounts for approximately 70 percent of fatal general aviation accidents, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), it might be a good time to review – how to prevent them from occurring.
Good news is, fatal aviation accidents are dropping in number.
