Special to the Advance EDINBURG — On Tuesday, Nov. 7th, an IDEA Academyschoolofficialcontacted the Edinburg Police Department to report that a 16-year-old male student attending the IDEA Academy located in the 3300 block of E. Texas Road, made several verbal threats to staff and other students on Nov. 4th during school hours.Aschool employee and several students overheard the 16-yearold student make comments threatening to cause serious bodily injury to the staff and students attending the school.On Nov. 8th, the 16-year-old student was taken into custody and transported to the Hidalgo County Juvenile Facility.
