By last Friday at 5 p.m., seven people had filed to run for the 2023 McAllen ISD school board election, which includes places 1, 2, 4, and 5.Unlike many local Valley elections, both city and school races, McAllen is not built on the slate model, but rather, it’s each candidate for him or herself.
