The Texas Press Association is joining a news industry transparency initiative that helps to automatically identify and verify the credentials of its almost 400 member publications across the state.Using the Trust.txt framework developed by the nonprofit organization Journal-List, TPA's members will be able to use a small snippet of text on their websites to openly share their professional and institutional affiliations with other participating publishers and news media groups.Cross-referencing these simple text files with the files of other trusted news industry groups creates a "trust signal" — a machine-readable process for search engines, social media and messaging services to help ...
