Two Child Predators Arrested at the Border in the Rio Grande Valley

EDINBURG — Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens with previous convictions for sexual assault. Brownsville agents arrested a Honduran national whose record checks revealed a previous arrest in Tennessee by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO). SCSO charged the man, later identified as Juan Carlos Cornejo-Aleman, with aggravated statutory rape. The man received as sentence of four years confinement for the crime. Kingsville agents, utilizing a small unmanned aircraft system, arrested a Mexican national, later identified as Gregorio Olivarez-Aguilar, who was attempting to circumvent via the ranch lands of Kenedy County. During processing, record checks revealed an arrest in Washington state. Olivarez-Aguilar was charged and convicted of rape of a child and received 26 months confinement. Additionally, record checks also revealed a previous arrest in Washington state by the Kent Police Department for kidnapping. Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
