Two Hidalgo Co. drainage district employees sent to hospital following bee attack

EDINBURG — Two employees with the Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 were sent to an area hospital after sustaining multiple stings from a bee attack. The two men were repairing erosion to a drainage ditch near Ridge Road between Jackson and Cage roads when they came across a swarm of bees and were stung more than 100 times each, according to first responders at the scene.
