Vehicle Inspection System now fully operational

The Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Vehicle Inspection System is now fully operational after an outage due to a hardware failure late last week. DPS personnel was able to replace the damaged hardware over the weekend and finalize testing overnight on Sunday in order to allow inspections to resume on Monday morning.The outage began on Aug. 23 and would not allow stations in safety-only counties to conduct proper vehicle inspections.
