U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers at Pharr International Bridge this weekend seized more than $1 million in cocaine hidden in a vehicle in a single enforcement action.
On Friday, the Texas Senate Finance Committee heard testimony from the Texas A&M University System, including the presidents of all A&M Universities. Chancellor John Sharp, who last year announced his retirement for later this year, attended the hearing to present his final priorities and funding requests after serving as Chancellor since 2011.
A Speechcraft public speaking course will be offered on four consecutive Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon beginning Feb. 1 at the Pharr Memorial Library (121 E Cherokee Ave., 2nd Floor). The Speechcraft is sponsored by Hub City and Allen McAllen Toastmasters Clubs.
