State legislators can take a simple but important step to improve access to mental health care by authorizing Texas to join the Interstate Counseling Compact — currently a group of 25 states who allow Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) the privilege to practice in-person and via telehealth across state lines.

One man’s inspiring legacy is that of Dr. Steve Bentsen. A small animal vet and a respected nature photographer Bentsen became a landowner in 2002. His goal was to manage his own property and capture images of the flora and fauna that reflected his stewardship. “Texas’s population is projected to double in the next 50 years and it’s already crowded. If we don’t take steps now to save open spaces, no one will have to do anything malicious to destroy the natural world – it will simple be paved over one parcel at a time in the name of progress.” said Dr. Steve Bentsen.
