Special to the Advance PHARR — In response to this weekend’s damaging storm, the Pharr Building and Code Compliance Department is prioritizing permitting and waiving fees for fence and re-roofing (shingle replacement) repairs.

As mentioned in last week’s Advance News Journal, former Pharr Mayor Fidencio “Cuate (twin)” Barrera passed away April 23 at the age of 94.
Even though it doesn’t seem possible, It has been 50 years since we walked the halls of PSJA High School. PSJA Class of 1973 is planning it’s golden 50th class reunion.
