A 23-year-old Houston resident has been sentenced for committing numerous gunpoint robberies of Houston banks, announced U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani.
McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. once again recommended to Mayor Javier Villalobos and the McAllen City Commissioners a significant decrease in the property tax rate for McAllen taxpayers, as part of the proposed $652 million municipal budget for fiscal year 2024-2025. The proposed recommendation lowers the property tax rate from $0.457285 per $100 valuation to $0.449989 per $100 valuation. This will be the third consecutive year that the City of McAllen City Commission has lowered the property tax rate.
