Region One ESC shares mental health crisis interventions with law enforcement, educators

Special to the Advance EDINBURG — The Region One Education Service Center (ESC) School Safety Initiative hosted over 100 school administrators and school-based law enforcement and local law enforcement officers for over a two-day period with sessions dedicated to behavioral interventions and de-escalation techniques for students experiencing mental health crises.

Region One ESC announces board election

Special to the Advance EDINBURG — The Region One Education Service Center will hold an election for two places on the Region One ESC Board of Directors which will expire on May 31, 2023. The two seats up for election are Place 2 representing Jim Hogg County, Starr County, and Zapata County, currently filled by Ricardo Gutierrez, of Rio Grande City, Texas, and Place 5 representing Cameron County, currently filled by Ruben Cortez, Jr., of Brownsville, Texas.
