Former county commissioner set for sentencing Wednesday
Getting close to 70, approximately two years shy, former Hidalgo County Commissioner A. C. Cuellar Jr. has to be feeling anxious, worried, stressed, as he heads to federal court this Wednesday afternoon to learn his fate after being convicted last October of more than 50 felony counts related to bribery of public officials, stretching back, prosecutors said, to 2008 and the city of Weslaco’s construction plans to rebuild its water-treatment facilities.
