On August 2nd Vanguard Academy held a Welcome Back Event that filled the air with inspiration and renewed energy! The event kicked off with the Vanguard Academy Praise and Worship team which consists of teachers that, set the tone for a day filled with positivity and unity. Our esteemed guest pastor Sal de la Rosa shared words of wisdom that resonated with all, followed by an enlightening address by Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz reminding us of the importance of community collaboration ending with a message of blessings and hope from Senator Eddie Lucio. A heartfelt tribute was paid to our dedicated teachers for their years of service at the Vanguard Academy, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to shaping young minds. Our superintendent then painted a vivid picture of the exciting journey ahead, outlining our aspirations for the upcoming year. This event was not just a gathering; it was a celebration of shared values, dedication, and the promise of a bright future for Vanguard Academy.
In partnership with South Texas College , Vanguard Academy is excited to announce that Vanguard is one of four recipients of the 2022-2023 “Jobs and Education Grant (JET), amounting to approximately $1.4 million, will play a pivotal role in furthering our mission to prepare high-demand and high-skilled career-ready scholars. This grant will allow us to elevate our instructional labs by acquiring cutting-edge technology, enhancing our students’ learning experience, and equipping them for successful careers in Health Care Professions, Computer Networking, and Cybersecurity. These fields hold great significance for our local economy, and this initiative will provide our students with valuable training and certifications, augmenting their employment prospects.
