Typically, a student pilot will first fly solo between 11 and 14 hours on average. Some a little more, some a little less. If you’re the flight instructor, each time you solo a student, you’re usually praying, and you’re anxious. A lot. You know what kind of student pilot they are with you aboard; but when they’re the only one in the cockpit, only time will tell.
Juan Garza, Jr., only 33 years old, has it pretty good for a while.
