By now, if you own property, you have received your county appraisal in the mail, and you’re either happy as a clam because you’re about to sell, retire, and now your home is worth more on the market, or you’re swearing like a salty sailor because you’re in the midst of building a family, and the increased property taxes can only be counted as a burden.
PCT slated to hold auditions May 8-9
This Summer Pharr Community Theater (PCT) will present The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit, a two-act comedy, in English, written by Ray Bradbury, (to be directed by Seres J. Magaña). The story is set in the 1970's in Los Angeles, where four young men pull together their money to buy a wonderful white suit that they believe will bring them better luck, especially in romance.
Philly QB: $255M for five years
Look, I know there is 42-year age difference between me and Philly QB Jalen Hurts, even though he was born Aug. 7 to my Aug. 8 (we’re both Leos), but I think I’m going to send him an email asking if he would be willing to adopt me as his son. He’s not married, has no kids, so who knows. Stranger things have happened. I can look pitiful.
Documentary premiere set for May 4 at Quinta Mazatlan
Join The Valley Land Fund at Quinta Mazatlán on May 4 at 6 p.m. for the premiere of 'Preserving South Texas Wildlands', the latest feature created by local wildlife documentarian, Richard Moore. This documentary details the importance of preserving private lands, with more than 95 percent of remaining wildlands in Texas are in the hands of private landowners.
