Region One ESC announces board election

Special to the Advance EDINBURG — The Region One Education Service Center will hold an election for two places on the Region One ESC Board of Directors which will expire on May 31, 2023. The two seats up for election are Place 2 representing Jim Hogg County, Starr County, and Zapata County, currently filled by Ricardo Gutierrez, of Rio Grande City, Texas, and Place 5 representing Cameron County, currently filled by Ruben Cortez, Jr., of Brownsville, Texas.

Pharr hosts State of the City Address

— The City of Pharr held its annual State of the City Address themed “Building a Smart City” on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Pharr Events Center. The Master of Ceremonies was Gabrielle Ruiz, who is a critically acclaimed television, film, and broadway actress, philanthropist, producer, activist, and champion of the arts who was born and raised in Edinburg.

Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge to host leaders to discuss economic impacts in RGV
